    Gorgeous illustrations. We had stewed pears at Christmas, but ours were in spiced red wine – I wonder if Mrs Beeton’s were too!

  5. I love Mrs. Beeton. I posted her plum pudding recipe last month for stir up Sunday. Her book is such a treasure! Love the illustrations.
