The Anglers Rest blog first went online at Blogger in 2002. At the time of transfer, the counter was at 349,463.
It was moved to this site on 18th December 2015 when the counter was reset -:(

Steph, I have not since found the answer, but wonder if you are right. Will investigate and comment further.

Not in any way an expert or close to it, and possibly a thought you'd had since May, but it's not a reference to Battery/Regiment, ie 120th battery of the 38th regiment?
If you have since found the answer it would be great if you could post.
